Airtel iPhone 4 In India To Be Available September or October

July 20th, 2010

A good news for all the iPhone lovers in our country (though this number is very less). You will have to wait for few more months more to lay you hands on iPhone 4 as the releasing date of this iPhone model will be near Diwali.

image

So now lots of expectations may arise from you all or by now, after the release of the previous models, you must have got the idea of their loopholes. The expected time span for the release of the iPhone 4 has been confirmed to be between October and September by Chief Executive Officer, Airtel for India and South Asia Mr. Sanjay Kapoor. Till now, there has been no news regarding this issue from Vodafone.

They have not mentioned anything regarding the price of the iPhone but I personally feel that again the prices of this model will be three times the of their price in US and this is because the apple has already understood about the psychology of Indian customers and they know that many of us will run after the ‘name’ of the product, no matter how costly it is. We can take an evidence from the second release of this phone. They never made any amendments which could have made this product more user-friendly. The cost of iPhone 3G is around 200$ (including AT&T subscription and Shipping charges) in US and it was around Rs31,000 for 8Gb version, when it was launched in our country. Does this make any sense?

But, still ‘apple is apple’, the sound quality, the visual features, battery life and appearance rocks and no other can compete with iPhone when it comes to brand name. The additional features as compared to iPhone 3G are mentioned below:-

  • Video calling with face to face with retina display and this time the resolution will be 960 by 640 (compared to 480 by 320 in iPhone 3G).
  • Camera will be of 5 megapixel with LED flash (as compared to 3 megapixel).
  • This time Apple A4 processor will be installed in it.
  • Dual Mic noise suppression.

So, these features may again attract a huge crowd (we people are completely unexpected). But, we all know that there is an unofficial route for us if we like this product and want to get it at lower cost. This can be done by getting an iPhone shipped from US and then getting its lock broken or you can for buying an iPhone from Canada and UK, as Apple sells unlocked iPhones into these countries and then you can use them with any GSM SIM.

3 Ways To Solve, Fix iPod, iPhone Does Not Show Up In iTunes For Sync [ Not Recognized In iTunes ]

July 19th, 2010

Recently, I faced a problem when I connected my iPhone to my computer with the USB Cable that came with iPhone, I found that my iphone got detected and displayed in my computer where I could access all the camera taken pictures but when when I ran iTunes it does not show up and was not recognised in windows.

I did some googling around issues and came to know the following fixes to this problem, read below.

Please Note: Whether your iPhone or iPod is jailbreaked or not it does not affect this problem of getting detected in iTunes, as far as my experience is concerned.

After some I came to know that apple mobile device service could be the reason for this problem. I checked the running services on the services tab in task manager and found that apple mobile device service was running properly, another reason to could be corrupted apple mobile device drivers or this could be due to the older version of windows.

Method 1: If Apple Mobile Device Driver Is Not Running

Go to Start Menu >> Run and type Services.msc and press Enter or press ok button

windows-services

Under services, find and locate mobile device driver service and start it if it is stopped, restart it if it is running already.

Restarting this service might result in solution to the problem, you may see iphone or ipod touch getting shown up in iTunes. If it does not solve your problem then follow other methods given below.

Method 2: Uninstalling The Corrupted Apple Mobile Device Drives

1. Open Start Menu, Right click on Computer and select manage.

right-click-my-computer

This will open up computer management in windows 7, however you can locate device manager quite differently in other version of windows like vista and xp, if you can’t find it just search for it.

2. Click “Device Manager” shown in the left tab

device-manager

4- Find and maximize “Universal Serial Bus controllers”
5- Right click “Apple Mobile Device USB Driver”. Click “Uninstall” (If it’s not installed, get it with Itunes.)
If it doesn’t all work out right there, unplug, replug you iPod or iPhone and you should be good.

Method 3: Updates iTunes To Latest Version Available

To do this, open and run iTunes and go to help >> select check for updates as shown in the image below.

Apple Says All Phones Hit By Signal Drop Called Antennagate At Press Conference

July 17th, 2010

In the press conference held by Apple for their much publicized antenna design and signal drop issues while holding the iPhone 4 in a certain position, Apple came out clean with a rather unusual way of explanation – They say that the issue is not just special to the iPhone 4, they say every smartphone gets a hit to its signal when held in a particular position. Apple has termed this problem as ‘Antennagate‘ and came up with proof that this problem is not unique to the iPhone.

Steve Jobs demonstrated this fact by showing the drop in signals of various other popular smartphones in the market.

  • HTC Droid Eris

Solution Offered By Apple

  1. iOS 4.0.1 was released yesterday, which fixed the display bug related to number of bars and signal strength and the Exchange bug.
  2. Consumer Reports said that the Bumper fixes all of the problems that have been publicized about the iPhone 4 so far. So Apple has decided to give everyone a free case for their iPhone 4.
  3. Anybody who has already purchased a Bumper is eligible for a refund
  4. Since Apple doesn’t have nearly enough time or resources at their disposal to make Bumpers for every iPhone 4 user, they are sourcing a few other cases, a choice amongst them would be available to every iPhone user for free, online.
  5. Anybody returning an undamaged iPhone 4 before 30 days after purchase is eligible for a full refund.

Steve also talked about some problems with the proximity sensor and ensured that Apple is working on fixing it.

As far as the white iPhone is concerned, Apple will start shipping it by the end of July.

July 16th, 2010

You will find it fascinating to keep your iPhone updated with all your new video and audio collections. But at the same time, you might face some problems related to the format of the file or sometimes when you just need the audio but not the video and many more. Many a times, some addition features like cropping, trimming or customizing certain part of the video is required. You must have searched for the solution but have ended up with different tools for a particular task every time. It seems to be very time consuming. Today, I have a freeware to review which can overcome all these problems effectively and it is known as iSkysoft iPhone Video Convertor.

sshot-1

This software can be used for the conversion of your video files to the iPhone formats. Not only the conversion of the video but it can perform many other functions to customize the videos as per your needs them.

sshot-2

The above snapshot shows how you can edit the video.

· The brightness, contrast and saturation can be changed.

· Effects like Gray, Emboss etc. can be added.

· The video can be rotated horizontally or vertically.

· Watermarking can be done, both with the image or text and in a customized manner.

· You can also plug-in subtitles and even customize the subtitles.

The original preview and the output preview show the comparison between the two videos.

sshot-3

The above snapshot shows the feature of taking a clip out of the video. Apart from these, there are many profiles available, so that you can choose as per your requirement. You can also choose to convert the video into the iPhone audio. Even two or more than two videos can be merged into one file. One of the best things about this software is that, it creates the required folders to store the output in your documents at the time of installation automatically. The two folders are Output and Snapshot.

The Output folder will contain all your iPhone videos and audios you may convert. You can also change the output location. There is also the provision of taking the snapshots of the video being played. It will be saved in the Snapshot folder automatically generated or elsewhere if needed. The snapshot can be taken in two formats JPEG and BMP.

iSkysoft can be used for many format conversions like MP4, Mpeg and many more. It is not only used for the iPhone formats but also for the common video conversion. So, it is a wonderful freeware that can help you to enjoy the videos as you want them.

The size of this tool is around 9 Mb, but it will get installed in no time. This tool is compatible with all the versions of Windows as it has been checked with Windows 7 32-bit Ultimate edition.
